The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is an institute of national importance with a vision to be a global leader in the integration of clinical services, education, and research in the field of mental health and neurosciences. Located in the heart of Bengaluru, Karnataka, our 100-acre campus houses state-of-the-art facilities, including a 650-bed tertiary care hospital that receives over 500,000 outpatient visits annually.
NIMHANS functions with the objective of translating knowledge from basic and clinical neurosciences to develop effective interventions for neurological and psychiatric disorders, which constitute a significant portion of the global disease burden. Our multidisciplinary approach brings together psychiatrists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, psychologists, psychiatric social workers, neuroscientists, and biostatisticians under one roof.
The institute is recognized by the World Health Organization as a Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Research and Training. NIMHANS Hospital provides integrated, multidisciplinary care for psychiatric, neurological, and neurosurgical disorders. Our patient-centric approach ensures that each individual receives personalized treatment plans developed by a team of experts.
Services include outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, emergency services, day care, rehabilitation, and community outreach. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic facilities including 3T MRI, PET-CT, digital EEG, neurophysiology labs, and a sleep lab.
OPD Registration: Outpatient services operate from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. New patients can register at the central registration counter from 8:00 AM onwards. Prior appointment via phone or online portal is recommended.
